Religious Instruction at SJNCS

Through the integration of Catholic identity, spiritual formation, and moral/ethical behavior, our Catholic school implements a rigorous curriculum focused on skills essential for students to become socially responsible global citizens.  Our curriculum goals are illuminated by the light of faith and grounded in the spiritual truths of sacred scripture and Catholic tradition.  Religion is taught daily within the classroom in preschool through fourth grade. Middle school students attend separate religion classes. Preschool students attend Mass once per week. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade attend Mass twice per week. Students in second grade are prepared for First Reconciliation and First Communion. For a detailed description of Religious Instruction visit the Diocese of Knoxville Catholic Schools’ website at www.
