Welcome to PK3!

Our preschool is a part of the St. John Neumann community.  It is rooted in the strong foundations of our Catholic faith and promotes the spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional well-being of each child. Our dedicated preschool teacher and their assistant provide students with the integral fundamentals needed to succeed.

The vision of St. John Neumann Preschool is the care and guidance of children to learn to the best of their ability.  Our preschool children are given opportunities to engage in hands-on activities to prepare them the best we can for Kindergarten.

Meet Mrs. Jenness

Mrs. Lindsay Jenness will be your PreK-3 and PreK-4 teacher this year! She was born and raised in Knoxville, TN, and attended SJNCS from Kindergarten-8th grade and is a 2015 graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School. After high school she attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she studied Child and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education, focusing on grades PreK-3rd Grade. She graduated in 2019 with her Bachelors degree and in 2020 completed her Masters degree in the same field of study. In 2020, she and her husband, Aaron, moved to Newnan, GA where she began working as a lead teacher in a Catholic PreK-4 classroom. She has seen firsthand the importance of a Catholic School education and has had the amazing opportunity to instill the Catholic faith in the minds of young children. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family and friends. She loves reading books for pleasure but also books to further her own learning and developing her own teaching style. One of her hobbies is cooking and baking; she loves being in the kitchen and trying new recipes. She also has and Etsy shop where she makes and sells embroidery pieces. Lindsay and Aaron have two Boston Terriers named Nellie and Hank. She is so happy to be back home in Knoxville and to be part of the SJNCS family again!

What We're Learning This Year

In Pre-K, your child will participate in daily activities geared towards fostering independence, enhancing academic development, and promoting relationships and community.

Pre-K 3 will follow weekly themes to help them develop necessary skills to build their early childhood development skills. We will begin to teach handwriting, letter recognition, counting, and social/emotional skills to adapt to a classroom setting. The students will be introduced to a flexible but, structured daily routine. Our Religion curriculum will teach them that God created them and made them good, happy, active, and special.

Friday Folders come home each Friday. please check and clean out your child’s Friday Folder each week.
